Starting to devise

Starting to devise.

Our groups got picked out at random and as soon as we knew what groups we were in we all started to devise our very own children’s theatre play. I was grouped with James, Nathan, Lily and Daisy, we all started the process by what sort of things we wanted to base our play on from reading the article and ‘The See-Saw Tree’ play. As a group we mind mapped some of the things that might be quite good thing to perform. We wanted it to have some form of moral, or something that can entertain but the children can get something from our play.

We then started to think of what story lines would go best with these learning devises. For example…
-          It could be set in a school playground
-          Set at home
-          Could have a super hero themed story where they stop the issues arising
-          The use of personified animals
-          Using an urban legend or myth to
After that we came up with a story line we wanted to set it in a school, and then find a myth that we could act out. Maybe start as children in a school learning about pirates and then we can multirole into the pirates and act out what happened. So know we had an idea we went away to research some mythological stories about pirates and once we have found them we are going to see which is the best that we can use.
